I watched the Bathurst Race recently and was absolutely glued to the ending. What an amazing competition. And then the speeches on the podium. I saw something that may have been the difference between winning and coming 2nd!
There was a glaring difference between those who chose the words - ‘our team’ to those who chose to use ‘MY team’.
The winners had absolute clarity that they were part of ‘one team’. 🏁
We often talk about “breaking down silos” as if it’s a big structural project. But most silos start small — in our daily habits.
Not joining a meeting because it’s “not my area.” Not sharing an update because “they probably already know.” These small choices slowly build invisible walls.
Collaboration starts with curiosity.
Ask questions across teams.
Offer help before being asked.
Share a success story that others could learn from.
👉 The moment we shift from my team to our team, we start creating something better together.👈
At Icing Training, we see the magic that happens when people connect across boundaries — it’s where innovation and energy thrive.
So today, do one small thing that breaks a wall, not builds one. ⚒️
